Hong Kong is much more than the malls and the luxury goods extravaganza that you will most likely see as a tourist. Below is a small selection of different shops during the evening. Vegetables, dried goods, Property, you can buy it all in the short hours after work where people can be people again.
The store in the forefront is a real estate agent. These always open untill very late with the real estate agents standing around in their suits looking like gangsters.
This is one of the first photos I took with my camera, the lightning isnt great but I still think its a nice photo somehow. I dont think many young people nowadays know what to do in these shops exactly. Usually you can smell these shops before you can see them.
Next to this corner shop is a vegetable shop that sells produce from the family farm from Shanxi
The lack of street lightning in the older districts gives the street a real atmosphere as each shop serves as a lighthouse.
